Friday night saw Metro shine at the seventh annual First Time Buyer Readers’ Awards. Hosted by TV presenter, Nicki Chapman at the Waldorf Hilton Hotel in London, the awards celebrate the successes of companies that support aspirational homebuyers onto the housing ladder.
This year a new category was added to the 15 strong award lineup, Best Property Supplement, which was won by Metro’s Tuesday supplement, Property, after the following ringing endorsement from the judges:
“Launched in April 2015, Metro’s Property provides a concise and engaging mix of home and property news, catering specifically for the newspaper’s young, urban-dwelling audience. This publication dedicates several pages every week to first time buyers and the challenges they face.”
On hand to collect the award were Metro’s Supplements Editor, Liz Burcher and London Classified’s, Jamie McCabe.
Lynda Clark, editor of First Time Buyer Magazine comments: “Buying a first property can not only be a daunting experience but as many will find, the lowest rung of the ladder can also the most financially difficult – especially for those without any help from the bank of mum and dad. The awards are a celebration of those who go that extra mile to help less experienced buyers into a home of their own and my congratulations go to everyone involved.”
