Grant’s association with Metro dates back to February 2000 when he joined the then fledgling free newspaper as a Group Head in the sales department.
He subsequently went to fill a number of senior roles on the commercial side, working at Metro almost continuously for the next fifteen years.
As Trading Director, Grant uses all of his experience to ensure Metro has the right sales strategy and structures in place to achieve financial targets across all available platforms.
Before joining Metro, Grant enjoyed a successful media career on the agency side, starting in 1991 at Zenith Media – where we was a first-hand witness to the birth of the big media buying shop. He later moved to a full-service agency at JWT, followed by a stint at Ogilvy & Mather and then Mindshare.
Outside of work, Grant is an accomplished amateur cyclist – he races weekly for his local club and completed the 148-kilometer L’Etape du Tour in 2014. He is also passionate about electronic dance music, Bolton Wanderers, XBox Live and the England cricket team.
