What is Story?

Story is Metro’s in-house ideas factory that pulls together members from all areas of the business to answer client briefs. We work closely together to generate the best possible creative ideas and deliver campaigns to the highest possible standard.

Who are Story?

Story is headed up by Grant Woodthorpe, Metro’s Managing Director – Commercial, and utilises resources from strategic sales, insight, editorial, design, production and project management teams. We see ourselves like a large creative studio, specialising to producing first class content for third party brands.

What can Story do for Clients?

Story is here to give clients a one-stop-shop by supplying everything from pitch through to production. We excel in delivering great content and campaign ideas for clients, before utilising skills from across the editorial and commercial departments at Metro to make them a reality.

Story knows exactly how to engage Metro readers because we understand them inside out and like to apply key insights about their interests, behaviours and experiences.

Why Story?

Following a review of old client briefs a couple of years ago, we recognised the need to change the way in which we were responding to them. From looking back we found that more and more briefs coming in were asking us to create the content – and because we are a content business, it naturally made sense for us to be creating more great content for our clients!

The newspaper is a condensed read for our commuter audience, but we know there’s an appetite for more, so we’re always up for conversations about how we can create new content for our readers through partnerships with brands.
